I had a great time at QuiltCon2013, held this week here in Austin, Texas.  This first major show of The Modern Quilt Guild was filled with boldly-designed quilts which seemed to embody a sense of fun and creative exploration that inspired in quite a different way from shows of more traditional quilts.

Is Your Spouse a Quilting Enabler?

My husband is a Quilting Enabler.  He wants me to buy the fabrics I love and the latest tools and gadgets.  He likes me to sit beside him on the couch in the evening and see me quilting while he watches TV.  He asks about the latest project or what I’m planning next.  He loves every quilt I’ve ever made – even the ugly ones.

QuiltCon, to be held Feb. 21 – 24, 2013 in Austin Texas, will be the inaugural conference and show by and for The Modern Quilt Guild.  The first modern quilting event of its kind, QuiltCon will be an international conference and show for modern quilters.  It will include a juried modern quilt show with cash prizes, vendors, lectures and workshops from top modern quilters.
