Craftsy Offers Free QuiltCon Lecture Series

Craftsy, the online crafting community, is offering free access to a series of lectures recorded at QuiltCon in Austin, Texas in 2013.  QuiltCon, the inaugural event of the Modern Quilt Guild, was co-sponsored by Craftsy and a Craftsy production team recorded seven lectures plus the awards ceremony at the show.

The series includes:

  • Amy Butler’s “Creating your Unique Color Story” in which she explores her inspirations and encourages color play
  • David Butler’s “Homemade Lifestyle Photography” explaining how to create beautiful photos on a budget
  • Mary Fons’  discussion of how to reach and teach beginners and integrate the older and newer quilting worlds
  • Jacquie Gering’s “Quilting Modern: Honoring Tradition”
  • Heather Jones’ “Everyday Inspiration in Modern Quilts” describing inspiration from the Walmart parking lot and other surprising places
  • Angela Walters’ lecture “machine Quilting for the Modern Quilt” about Ms. Walters approach to surface design on modern quilts
  • A panel discussion “All About Fabric Design” featuring Evie Ashworth, Amy Butler, Kathy Miller and Laurie Wisbrun
  • The winning quilts!
