Donation Quilts Needed for West, Texas

By Janelle Cahoon, Quiltcentric

Quilter and author Judy Laquidara is coordinating the collection and distribution of quilts for the victims of the recent fertilizer plant fire and explosion in West, Texas.

She is collecting new, unused quilts of any size, but they must be completed quilts (not just tops).  If you have one or more quilts finished that you’d like to contribute, contact her at her email address for the address to ship to.  The quilts need to be received by May 31st, 2013, so that Judy can take them over for delivery in early June.  Judy’s plan is to “work with friends in the Waco area, local guilds and local churches and have them do the actual distribution” to get the quilts to the people who need them most.

Judy is posting photos of the donated quilts on her Patchwork Times blog  if you’d like to see what other quilters have contributed.
