Quilts Sought for Oklahoma Tornado Relief

By Janelle Cahoon, Quiltcentric

The Oklahoma City Modern Quilt Guild has announced that they are now collecting donations of completed quilts for distribution to those affected by the recent devastating tornado in Moore, OK, in a relief effort called “Moore Love.”

“We know you want something tangible to go to the victims of these horrific tornadoes,” the guild posted on their website.  “. . . [S]end us your completed quilts and we will get them to those in need.”

If you want to help by donating a quilt, email the OKC Modern Quilt Guild ( ) for their mailing address.  Donated quilts can be any size or style.  The guild needs to receive the quilts by June 30th for distribution.

The OKC Modern Quilt Guild also plans to create two quilts that will be raffled as fundraisers for 2 charities, as money is badly needed to help the tornado victims.  More details on this should be available around mid-June on the guild website.

“Thank you for your outpouring of support, love, positive thoughts, prayers . . . and quilts!” the guild concludes in their “Moore Love” announcement.
